This band opened for Alice Cooper last night. I thought they were pretty decent. They played very well and their music is good, but I didn't think they were extra special. My favorite of the original tunes they did is "Get In Get Out". They also did a cover of Billy Idol's "Rebel Yell" which was MUCH better than Idol's version. Check 'em out:

This movie has some great hype and I ate it up. The previews made me laugh and not even the retards protesting it could sway me against it.

But like almost always when I have high expectations for a movie I came out of the theater disappointed. Not that it's not a good movie but it does not live up to all the hype. I laughed, I laughed more times than I can count but inbetween the laughs I was kind of bored. There's a lot of talent in this film and they do a great job of supporting ...

I'm not a big fan, but some of the songs were a blast from the past for me: Cold Ethel, Only Women Bleed, Billion Dollar Babies; lots of standards: School's Out, Eighteen, No More Mr Nice Guy; some I had forgotten about: Feed My Frankenstein, Poison, Lost in America, Be My Lover, Elected; and one that I think was a concert debut, Vengeance is Mine.

This morning was "meet & greet" at the elementary school. People were parked up and down the street (and side streets) but we were an hour into the thing so I decided to drive thru one of the school parking lots to see if there were any vacated spots. HUGE MISTAKE.

People were parked illegally all over - in the fire lanes, on every curb. Well, some chowder head decided to bring a STRETCH LIMO to school and it got stuck on a turn because of all the parked cars. And guess ...

Got up early this morning, and we straightened everything up in case someone.....anyone.....wants to see the house. So far not even a nibble. I know it's reasonably priced, going by past sales in the area, and other listings......we're right in the mid range, and the area is a desireable area.. Stupid economy! One thing I know, I'm glad I didn't HAVE to put it up for sale. I don't HAVE to move. Just want something a little more smaller.

It's tax free back-to-school weekend starting today here in Georgia so we are off to the mall.

I walked 3 miles and it's my day off from weights, thank God, as I am sore today. My pills came in and I took one over an hour ago. I haven't noticed any 'speeding' sensation that I used to get from OTC diet pills. I'm not feeling hungry but I wasn't before the pill either. I'm supposed to take two a day starting out so we'll see how the second goes.

Just got the day's blog in before it's over. It was trivia night and even though I sprained my fucking ankle walking today I went. We placed! Third, but still!

I am so fucking pissed about my ankle I cannot even tell you. I've been walking a couple of miles for a week or so but I had just decided to step everything up and it was Day 2 of my plan to walk 3 miles per day. And now not only can I not walk more I can't fucking walk at all goddammit to hell.

I have a straight back chair that was my grandmothers that I brought back home from my parents. The wood is in excellent shape, the chair is tight but there is no seat. It had some kind of cane basket weave but I don't care if it is exactly the same. I'd like to find some kind I can do myself. Anyone ever done anything similar?

So, I have an 11:40 Dr. apptmt. A week's worth of this untreatable cough has forced my hand but that in no way reduces the lack of confidence I have in the medical profession to acurately diagnose and treat me. I just figure what have I got to lose? I've tried a half dozen OTC treatments and it's Friday - if I get worse over the weekend I'll have to go to a walk-in place.

But fuck all, at least it is Friday, right?

Another day spent at Home Depot, Lowes, and Ace hardware.....and none of them had the thing I really, really, needed. I need ten one-inch foot flanges to anchor the wrought iron railings around the front porch. About half of the current anchors imbedded in the concrete of the sidewalk and front porch have just rusted through.....and it needs to be fixed. Fixed, or completely taken down, because the home inspector will just make it an issue when we put this thing up for sale.
